Biography
Matt Hall co-founded MSB, a coaching and coach-education organisation dedicated to human-centred leadership in international schools. MSB partners with over 400 heads and senior leaders globally, offering tailored executive coaching and a pathway to ICF-aligned accreditation for educators.
Under Matt’s guidance, MSB collaborates with prominent school groups such as Nord Anglia, GEMS, International Schools Partnership, the English Schools Foundation, and FOBISIA, embedding coaching at scale across systems.
Matt leads a team of more than 35 experienced coaches and facilitators, curating “regenerative spaces” for leaders to reflect, reconnect, and reimagine their impact.
A graduate of the University of Cambridge, Matt is a CTI-trained coach and has served in senior leadership roles in the UK and abroad His work is grounded in MSB’s philosophy of being, belonging, becoming — cultivating presence, connection, and growth in leadership.
Matt is a regular speaker in the international education sphere, most recently delivering the keynote at BSME’s 2025 leadership conference.
Beyond his professional life, Matt lives in the Scottish Highlands with his wife, three daughters, and two dogs, drawing sustenance from nature and presence in daily life.

As founding director of Making Stuff Better, I lead the growth of our coach training and leadership development portfolio. With a particular focus on government and healthcare clients, I bring my experience of school leadership to our 1:1 coaching and training design.

One of the leading international schools in the Middle East, BSM is large 3-18 school with approximately 1100 students on roll serving a diverse expatriate community. As part of the Senior School leadership team we led the school from a BSO ‘Good’ judgement (2014) to BSO ‘Outstanding” (2017) in less than 3 years.
City Academy, Bristol – Vice Principal
2011–2014
Located in the 14th most deprived ward in the UK, City Academy is multicultural inner-city secondary school with approximately 1000 on roll. I led the improving standards agenda with responsibility for English & mathematics curriculum areas and the Sixth Form, securing a Good OfSTED judgement in 2012
