Biography
Mark is motivated by a desire to support individuals learn, develop and gain new awareness about themselves. He believes that enabling the client to adjust their relationship with a topic and to shift their attitude, assumptions, beliefs, thinking or behaviour is key to them identifying new goals and building personal responsibility to take action.
Mark is Inspired by a quote from Paulo Freire from his book Pedagogy of the Oppressed
“Looking at the past must only be a means of understanding more clearly what and who you are – so you can more wisely build the future. “
Mark enjoys painting and describes himself as currently being in an abstract phase. Mark also has a love of writing and has published two children’s books which come from his experiences of being a grandparent to ten grandchildren!

As founding director of Rise ODC, I lead the growth of coaching and leadership development partnerships with a range of organisations in both the public and commercial sectors in the UK and internationally. I bring my experience in a variety of leadership roles to my coaching and mentoring practice. I am also on the faculties of two UK universities and specialize in critical self-reflection. Mark led a service of 300 staff with accountability for performance and knowledge management, strategy and policy development, family rights and participation, human resources, internal communication, strategic risk management , ICT and Union relationship management. He led the service to both national and international awards for project delivery and E communication.
