After graduating from the University of Cambridge, Matt headed for the corporate world. It didn’t take many years of treading the commercial hamster-wheel to realise that a more meaningful career beckoned and, after a short stint working for a charity in Nigeria, he made the decision to join the teaching profession.
Promotion to Senior Leadership came three years after his NQT year and he has now worked as a senior leader in three diverse and different schools. The most recent of these was a Deputy Headship in Oman, a chance to really see education from a new perspective. Here Matt pioneered the development of the National College's International Programme for Middle Leaders with a range of schools in Muscat.
He has extensive experience working in personal and social development for young people both in the UK and overseas and he trains with the Co-Active Coaches Training Institute (CTI). A qualified National College and COBIS training facilitator, Matt is also founder of Organic Man, a coaching company that helps good men become great Dads.
Matt is currently co- authoring a book for Crown House on school leadership in challenging contexts
